Explore your community through documentary filmmaking! Making documentaries gives you the chance to meet interesting people you might not otherwise get to know and see the world around you in a new way. We’ll work in groups to plan, film, and edit a short documentary about one of the many interesting ventures happening at Vandalia Tower, IFP’s immediate community. The camp focuses on the craft of documentary storytelling and includes instruction in capturing compelling images with a camera, interviewing participants to get the best story, and creating a narrative through editing with Adobe Premiere CC for Mac.

Tuition: $240

Beth Peloff is a video maker and teacher who works in both documentary and animation. Her films have played at film festivals both locally and nationally. She co-owns Green Jeans Media, a small production company that uses documentary storytelling to showcase the work of nonprofits.

Camp Registration Guidelines & Cancellation Policy

• Registration deadlines are listed with camp descriptions (click on camp title). You may register online, in person at IFP MN, or by phone with a credit card at 651.644.1912. Space is assigned on a first-come basis. Registrations must include payment in full to be valid. Completing the online registration form without payment DOES NOT reserve a place in a camp. Registrations are accepted beyond registration deadlines as long as space is available.
• If minimum enrollment has not been reached by 5 days prior to the start date of a camp, IFP MN may cancel it, in which case registrants will immediately be notified and receive a full refund by PayPal or charge card credit (for phone or in person credit card registrations) within 5 business days. A check will be issued for registrations that were paid in cash. In lieu of a refund, students have the option of applying their tuition to another camp if scheduled in the same calendar year.
• For those wishing to cancel a registration prior to the registration deadline, 100% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. For registration cancellations received after the registration deadline but prior to the first camp session, 50% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. As of a camp start date, no refunds or credits/exchanges will be given.
• Tuition is not prorated for missed camp sessions.
