IFP Summer Camps 2016: Short Cuts (Sec. 3, ages 11-15)

Monday–Friday, August 1–5, 12–4 pm
The perfect camp for the future director! Students will create two short films over the course of the week. You’ll be introduced to the filmmaking process through an introductory artist’s statement film, then add further production value in creating video poem shorts. You’ll learn how to develop and storyboard a film idea, direct a production with professional gear, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
Tuition: $240
Allison Herrera is a reporter, filmmaker, and lover of Mexican breakfasts. She currently spends her time one of three ways: editing audio tape, logging video footage, or tracking down sources for her next story. She’s produced short videos for public television, artists, and non-profit organizations. She’s reported and produced radio for MPR, Ampers, and KFAI. In 2015, she completed a film about her grandmother and her family’s roots in rural California. Allison is currently producing a documentary about Ojibwe painter Jim Denomie and is on a reporting assignment in Oklahoma producing stories about Native American communities. She lives in Minneapolis with her daughter Anna.
