Refine your on-camera abilities in a dynamic camp offering led by seasoned industry veteran Matt Bailey. This immersive experience fosters a safe and enjoyable environment, where participants delve into the true essence of acting. With a personalized touch, specific materials are curated for each student, ensuring a tailored and effective learning journey. Through a blend of improv, guided direction, and playful exploration, participants learn to authentically serve the character, breathe life into the story, and express themselves in front of the camera. This comprehensive training not only addresses the technical aspects of on-camera acting but also nurtures the artistry behind it, providing the confidence and finesse needed to navigate the challenges of performing in front of the lens. Tuition: $530
Matt Bailey is an award-winning actor and screenwriter originally from California. A student-of-the-year graduate of the University of Arizona, Matt holds two BFAs from the U of A School of Film & Television. Over his 25-year professional career, Matt has amassed over 75 credits across 30 states, spanning just about every medium from Broadway to “Boardwalk Empire.” He has performed onstage at the National Theater, Lincoln Center, the Ahmanson, the Hippodrome, the Fabulous Fox, the Shubert, and dozens more. His onscreen credits include ABC, CBS, FOX, HBO, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ESPN, and MTV, in shows such as “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Madam Secretary,” “The Path” and in several feature films. His acting work has been recognized by the Kevin Kline Awards, the Broadway World L.A. Awards, the Ovation Awards, the AFIN Awards, the NYC Web Fest Awards, among several others. Matt believes the key to unlocking one’s own artistic success – is practice – and he is stoked to bring his safe, kind, and empathetic teaching approach back to FilmNorth this summer.
Camp Registration Guidelines & Cancellation Policy
- Space is assigned on a first-come basis. Registrations must include payment in full. Registrations are accepted after registration deadlines if space is available.
- If minimum enrollment has not been reached by 7 days prior to the start date of a camp, FilmNorth may cancel it, in which case registrants will immediately be notified and receive a full refund within 5 business days. A check will be issued for registrations that were paid by cash. In lieu of a refund, students have the option of applying their tuition to another camp if scheduled in the same calendar year.
- For those wishing to cancel a registration at least 7 days prior to the first camp session, 100% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. For registration cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the first camp session, 50% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. As of a camp start date, no refunds or credits/exchanges will be given.
- Tuition is not prorated for missed camp sessions.
- The FILMNORTH CAMP PARENT/GUARDIAN RELEASE FORM and FILMNORTH CAMP APPEARANCE RELEASE FORM must be completed and submitted prior to the start of the first camp session. A new set of forms must be completed for each camp. Please print, complete and return the two PDF forms below by: 1) emailing them to the Director of Engagement and Advancement; or 2) mailing them via regular postal delivery to Youth Camps, c/o FilmNorth, 550 Vandalia Street #120, Saint Paul, MN 55114. Otherwise, please bring completed forms to the first camp session. Students are not permitted to attend camps without signed forms.
