Perfect Pitch: The Art of Pitching for Film, TV & Web

Starts April 25

1 session: Saturday, April 25, 10am–5pm

Whether you’re pitching to a studio executive, agents at a pitch fest, potential investors, or just trying to convince your friends to crew on your next short film, pitching is an essential—and often underdeveloped—skill. In this workshop, pitching will be broken down to its fundamental components, and students will learn a series of simple, repeatable tricks to pitch anything from a feature film to episodic TV. Special emphasis will be placed on the practical uses of pitching for filmmakers in Minnesota. There will be a lunch break.

Tuition: $175 regular/$130 members/$100 low-income

Rod Peyton received his MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute (the year it was named #1 Film School in the World by the Hollywood Reporter), and his BA in Studies in Cinema and Media Culture from the University of Minnesota. He has developed projects for 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures and Google, and his short films have won awards at festivals across the country. He currently divides his time between Minneapolis and Los Angeles, where he works as a screenwriter.
