5 sessions: Tuesdays, July 21–August 18, 6:30–9:30pm

Join us for our popular composition class in learning how to best document the world around you, whether at home or in your travels. Utilizing the urban landscape as its subject, the class employs working together at select locations to learn and apply composition techniques. This a format optional course for medium to advanced levels whose course work objectives include seeking the extraordinary in the ordinary and applying cultural competency in your photographic practice. Knowledge of manual camera controls is required. Tuition includes photo edit lab time at IFP.

Deborah Meyer is a photographer based in Minneapolis and Mérida, Mexico who holds a longstanding background as photo stylist, producer, and co-designer for both local and national advertising projects. In addition to her freelance work, she maintains a part-time position at Walker Art Center. She has been an instructor at IFP for the past seventeen years. Her fine art photography has been exhibited locally and purchased for publication.

IFP MN Class Registration Guidelines

• Registration deadlines are listed with course descriptions. Space is assigned on a first-come basis. Registrations must be paid in full to be valid.
• If minimum enrollment has not been reached, IFP MN may cancel the class. If so, students will be notified the week of the class and receive a full refund.
• For students wishing to cancel a registration prior to the registration deadline, 100% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $15 administration fee. For cancellations after the registration deadline but prior to the first session, 50% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $15 administration fee. Once a course begins, no refunds will be given.
• Tuition is not prorated for missed class sessions.
