Short Cuts Camp (Section 4, ages 11-14)

Starts August 14

Monday–Friday, August 14–18, 12–4 pm

The perfect camp for the future director! Students will create two short films over the course of the week. You’ll be introduced to the filmmaking process through an introductory artist’s statement film, then add further production value in creating video poem shorts. You’ll learn how to develop and storyboard a film idea, direct a production with professional gear, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC on iMacs.

Tuition: $240

AllisonAllison Herrera has a broad background in youth media. She has served as IFP MN’s Youth Program Director and taught youth workshops for Saint Paul Neighborhood Network and Intermedia Arts. Allison has been a reporter and producer for AMPERS, an association of 15 independent community radio stations in Minnesota, and has worked as a freelance video producer. She currently works for Public Radio International as a reporter and social media editor.

Camp Registration Guidelines & Cancellation Policy

  • Registration deadlines are listed with camp descriptions (click on camp title). You may register online, in person at IFP MN, or by phone with a credit card at 651.644.1912. Space is assigned on a first-come basis. Registrations must include payment in full to be valid. Completing the online registration form without payment DOES NOT reserve a place in a camp. Registrations are accepted beyond registration deadlines as long as space is available.
  • If minimum enrollment has not been reached by 5 days prior to the start date of a camp, IFP MN may cancel it, in which case registrants will immediately be notified and receive a full refund by PayPal or charge card credit (for phone or in person credit card registrations) within 5 business days. A check will be issued for registrations that were paid in cash. In lieu of a refund, students have the option of applying their tuition to another camp if scheduled in the same calendar year.
  • For those wishing to cancel a registration prior to the registration deadline, 100% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. For registration cancellations received after the registration deadline but prior to the first camp session, 50% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. As of a camp start date, no refunds or credits/exchanges will be given.
  • Tuition is not prorated for missed camp sessions.
