Introduction to DaVinci Resolve

Date & Time

2 sessions Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13, 10:00 am-2:00 pm

Description

Since its acquisition by Blackmagic Design, DaVinci Resolve has evolved into a comprehensive post-production powerhouse, offering an all-in-one solution for every phase of editing, sound design, and finishing. Its editing capabilities rival industry standards like Avid and Premiere, while its seamless workflow eliminates the need to transfer projects between multiple platforms. Plus, Resolve’s color correction tools are not only highly advanced but also intuitive compared to other alternatives.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of DaVinci Resolve, essential editing techniques, and an introduction to color correction. Using iMacs in FilmNorth’s edit lab, participants will have hands-on experience editing a short piece, applying the techniques covered in class to gain confidence in navigating and working within the Resolve editing suite.

Students should bring either a USB-C hard drive or 32GB USB-C flash drive if they wish to back up course files.
