Lisa Yamashita Allen
Lisa has over a decade of experience in building partnerships for documentary films and social impact campaigns, focusing on issues of freedom of press, women’s rights, criminal justice reform, addiction and recovery, LGBTQ+, and safe and dignified housing. Recent films include Bad Press (2023 Sundance), Home is a Hotel (2023 SFFILM, Big Sky), No Matter What (2023 REEL Recovery), and Mama Has a Mustache (2021 Mountainfilm, Outfest). She has created partnerships between these films and organizations, including The New York Times, JPMorgan Chase, Impossible Foods, Google, Columbia Journalism School, United Way Bay Area and PFLAG to book screening events and speaking engagements. Previously, Lisa was festival manager at Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival, served as a Japanese-English interpreter for The Phillips Collection Japan Tour, head of outreach at Kyoto Journal, and outreach director at Meridian Hill Pictures and their 2015 film City of Trees.
