2021 FilmNorth Forum Goes Virtual

January 15th, 2021

The 2021 FilmNorth Forum presents free online panels and conversations that shine a light on important topics, artists, and stories from underrepresented communities. As FilmNorth is an official partner of the Sundance Film Festival, several presentations will premiere during the 2021 Festival and be available on both FilmNorth and Sundance’s websites beginning January 29. More info here.

Presented by WarnerMedia, with additional support from the John S and James L Knight Foundation, Jerome Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and SAGindie.

FilmNorth Named Official Sundance Partner

We’re thrilled to announce that FilmNorth has been chosen as the 2021 Sundance Film Festival’s exclusive Minnesota partner. As an Official Partner, FilmNorth will serve as a regional satellite to make Sundance films accessible via socially distanced and safe experiences at the Riverview Theater, only if state protocols allow. In addition, FilmNorth will create original virtual panels and conversations that will be shared with the world during this year’s Festival (Jan 28-Feb 3). Click here for more information.

Make A Year-End Contribution to FilmNorth

Help us keep classes and screenings online, employ teaching artists at a time when artists are struggling for employment, and keep youth engaged in enriching media arts education.

The COVID-19 has been exceptionally difficult for nonprofit arts organizations, including FilmNorth. We are grateful for our incredible community who has supported us as we successfully moved film classes, youth programs, and CinemaLounge screenings online and as we created the Minnesota Film Community Emergency Relief Fund, providing $500 grants to filmmakers and film crew in need.

In the final two months of this tumultuous year, FilmNorth has set a fundraising goal of $30,000 to allow us to continue to support independent filmmakers who call Minnesota home. We invite you to join us in celebrating the amazing talent of the filmmakers who share our stories with the world. You can make a donation to FilmNorth here. Any amount makes a difference! Thank you!
