Stop Motion Animation

Starts June 24

Ages 13-17. M-F, June 24-28, 9:00 am-12:30 pm

Prepare for an immersive exploration into the world of animation! Participants will learn the essentials of stop-motion animation while exploring each phase of the process – from storyboarding to image capture using Stop Motion Studio and final editing in Adobe Premiere. Participants will collaborate in pairs, refining skills in story development, character design, camera techniques, lighting, soundtrack creation, and frame-by-frame image capture. Using uniquely designed clay or paper craft characters, each participant will leave with a portfolio of animated short films, showcasing their newfound expertise in the art of animation.

Preparation: Bring a phone, phone charger, and have the free app Stop Motion Studio downloaded before you arrive on the first day. Link to the app for Apple and Android. Please email if you need assistance with installing the app. Some materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring clay, construction paper, colored pencils/markers, fabric and any other materials that could be of interest in the creation of the animation.

Tuition: $265
